Rolling papers and cones sizes, explained

Walk up to our counter and ask for "papers" and the first question back is "what size?" Here's the short version, so you can grab the right pack online and pick it up in Lynbrook.

The three sizes you'll see most

SizePaper length (about)Who it's for
1¼78–79 mmThe everyday size. Easy to roll, good for one person.
King Size Slim108–110 mmLonger roll for sharing, slim width so it burns evenly.
King Size (wide)108–110 mm, widerBigger rolls. Harder to roll tight; most people prefer Slim.

Exact measurements vary a little by brand. RAW, Elements, Vibes and Blazy Susan all print the size on the front of the booklet.

Papers vs cones

Papers are cheaper per roll and let you control the shape. Pre-rolled cones are already shaped, with a filter tip, so you just fill, pack and twist. If you're not a confident roller, cones save time and waste.

Cones come in the same size names: a 1¼ cone is about 84 mm and a King Size cone about 109 mm. Retail packs are usually 6 for 1¼ and 3 for King Size, and bigger counts (20, 50 or 75) come in boxes and jars.

What the paper is made of

  • Unbleached / natural (RAW Classic, OCB Virgin): light tan color, slow and even burn, the most popular choice.
  • Rice (Elements): very thin, almost no taste, burns slowly.
  • Hemp (Bob Marley, RAW Organic Hemp): a little thicker, easy to handle.
  • Flavored (Juicy Jay's): sweet flavor in the paper itself.

Tips and filters

Tips keep the end firm and stop you from burning your fingers. Pre-rolled tips like RAW Perfecto save you folding them yourself. Carbon filter tips (Blazy Susan) are a step up if you want a smoother draw.
